I had not meant to keep a puppy from this litter, as I already had 8 Salukis at home - it turned out differently and I'm so glad it did! Shadid, known as the Pretty Boy of the litter, was his dad's copy as a baby, although he decided to become feathered instead :) Khattaf is still his biggest idol, whom he smiles at just like his mom :).

Shadid was supposed to moved to the US to a friend of mine, but they ran into some trouble that made it impractical to take a puppy just then. For a while I thought I would find him another home, but Shadid al-Sham, "strong of Syria", is my baby! He seems to have inherited the best of both parents, and is an endlessly loving, gentle and happy boy - a joy to live with!

Shadid has been TgAA tested (neg.) in early 2010 and his heart auscultated (no murmurs) and a cardiac ultrasound done (healthy) in April 2011.
