Qashani Kasabi al-Badia - 'Vera'

Kasabi al-Badia means "winner of the desert", and she was my pick of the litter, as she is well built, always the first of the pups to learn new things, and has been wonderfully sure-footed and strong-willed from the start.

Since I have so many Salukis at home already, I decided to place little "Vera" on breeding terms and co-ownership with my dear friend Laura. In addition to her Vera shares her home with three other Salukis, the Western bitch Sofi and half COO bitch Aava, and the half COO male Jameel.

Vera has turned into a wonderfully well made and beautiful bitch. Her sweet temperament reminds me a lot of her dam Basma - happy, sweet and loving. She even "purrs" when she's really happy!

In December 2012 Vera took part in the Finnish Saluki heart study. She had a cardiac ultrasound and was found to be healthy, with a harmless 1/6 physiological murmur. She also had a thyroid and TgAA test done, all ok. Now we hope she will have a litter in the spring of 2014 - her husband being our handsome Melik Jasiim from Iranian lines.
